ProfileBlogFun above HoursCreated On: 08/17/2010 12:30:32 Being a CEO for a few years now, it still makes me laugh how some VA’s do everything to make a lot of hours in a month. So is there the phenomenon of the “sleep pilots” during long haul flights, pilots who before they go to bed, put there plane up and then go to sleep for hours and then land the plane. Everything for the hours and forget the fun of being online and fly together. It is funny thing! I’m very glad wih the fact that Bert van Beek is part of the staff as manager of the Flight Operations Center. It will be a lot of work to set it up but we will take it step by step. Also very good new is that Danny de Vries made the MTL for the 747 Cargo as we have some 747 pilots like Arnold Abramsen and Onno Sluijter who waited long for the MTL. The file is converted and hopefully will be in the next update of the MTL’s. Furthermore I still want a third company in the V-Bird VA group and the ideas are getting more realistic. First problem was to choose a name and I had some suggestions as Belgianfly VA (as a wink to Dutchfly VA), Belgium Air and Air Belgica (as a wink to the former Air Belgium), ect, ect. It will not be one of those names, but Bert came with a nice name and I am working on a livery at the moment. The rest will be revealed when the time is there and the staff is ok with the plans. Fsweekend is also coming closer and ofcourse we will be there this year. Also there will be a lanparty of the Belgium Division which Bert and I will visit to meet the guys of the Division. So it will be very busy the coming months but it will be fun, as that is still the drive we all have to put so much hours in this great VA. Because with V-Bird VA it is still FUN ABOVE HOURS!!! See you in the sky Cor de Bruin CEO V-Bird VA Group It has been awileCreated On: 01/28/2010 16:17:41 It has been awile since I wrote my last blog. It has been a great anniversary year for V-Bird. We have flown almost 23.000 hours last year. It will be hard to beat that record and also the company record of 2403.7 hours and 1064 pireps in one month will be hard to break. A lot of new people joined V-Bird and also some rejoined us. We are new ready to take it all to a next level. The 6th of februari we have a staff meeting and we want to get the people more involved in different parts of V-Bird VA. More and more it looks like a real company, so more and more structure we need. It is nice to see on the forum that people are discussing paints of aircrafts and which MTL we still need. That’s a sign that a lot of people care. We also want to expand the V-Bird VA Group a little more as we face the problems with ASL. We had one pilot who would take care of the livery’s but personal reasons forced him to quit the project. It will be a year of challenge again. The month januari is almost over and we have a lot to do. I whish you all happy flying and take care. Cor de Bruin CEO V-Bird VA Group New seasonCreated On: 09/12/2009 08:33:16 Just having my breakfast before going to the staff meeting and let my thoughts go over the summer. A very nice summer when you look at it in terms of the weather ect. but also a very nice summer for the VA. New people have joined and also 2 of the people who left the VA 2 years ago returned to V-Bird VA, something that I’m very happy with. I’m still hoping 1 or 2 others will return, you never know ![]() It is nice to see that experience guys now helping the guys who just started with FS and basically the same problems that we had when we started with FS. This is what a VA is all about, having fun with the hobby, helping each other and making friends. Later today staff meeting to talk about next month celebration of 5 Years of V-Bird VA and of course FS weekend in November. I think it will be a busy day where at the end some good decisions will be made. Tomorrow I will be making a flight, because it has been a few days since I made one. See you in the sky, Regards, Cor Summer breakCreated On: 07/02/2009 09:41:07 This will be the last blog before everybody will go on holiday. It is busy at the V-Bird office because everything is has to be ready for our 5th years party later this year. The work for the new company is going pretty good. The website is done for 60% and I’m now busy to make sure that FSACARS and Flightkeeper is going to work with the new company. From staffmembers I’m getting reports that people are very curious which company it is. Patients is the key in this one More people are using Flightkeeper and that is nice thing to see. I will try later this year to make a small document with the important settings for Flightkeeper to log with V-Bird. Hope you all have a great summer. See you all in the sky, Regards, Cor Almost SummerCreated On: 06/04/2009 14:55:35 It has been almost one month since the last weblog. A lot is going on within V-Bird Virtual Airline as we going to expand and starting with the beginning of the V-Bird VA Group. We have permission of a real life company to start virtualy. As we want to take the time to realise everything we expect to start around the celebration of the 5th year of V-Bird Virtual airline. Within the staff we are very exited with the new chapter in the history of our VA. Also we going to start with handing out the templates to the pilots who are want to use flightkeeper. We are then official out of the testfase. This summer I want to try to get the MTL’s painted for IVAO, also because we need to start straight away with the MTL’s for the new company. At V-Bird we are starting our summer breake, with not that much events. After the summer we will have a lot coming to us. I just sent Arnold Kempen some info for a nice day out after the summer, more about that when we have the information we need. If you have the time, have a look at the weblog from Sander. He has already has a nickname: Mr. 99. Why? Just read about his life in Oxford (UK) See you in the sky!!! Regards, Cor |
