These rules are a translation of the Dutch version of the rules. Whenever there is any doubt of the meaning of the English rules or any difference between the English text and the Dutch text,
the Dutch version of the rules is leading.

Code of conduct: Forum rules
  1. Members are themselves responsible for the personal details they provide.
  2. Members are to post messages in such a way that it is respectful to other forum users. Scolding other members will not be tolerated and shall result in a warning.
  3. Members are to refrain from acting as moderators. When a member notices anything which conflicts with this document, they are welcome to report this to the moderators. Use the button ‘Report to moderator’ to do this. Do not respond to such messages. Members who act as moderators can receive a warning about this.
  4. Messages should be posted in the proper forum and topic. Read the topic titles before posting a message.
  5. Members should use an appropriate, descriptive and substantive title when posting a new topic. Examples of bad titles are: “Help!”, “What is this?”, “Question”, etc. Every message should only encompass the topic in which it was posted.
  6. When replying to a message, members should stay on topic or open a new topic. This does not mean that one cannot post off-topic messages at all, but do ensure that the original topic does not change. It is natural that forum topics deviate from their original topic. In such a case, it is a good habit to open a new topic.
  7. Advertisements of any kind to promote commercial interests is prohibited in messages, attachments, signature and avatar. Not in text, not graphically nor by means of (web) links to (commercial) websites with the hopes to generate hits. Contact the V-Bird CEO for the possibilities to advertise on the VBV site.
  8. Note: The “My business” link to a personal website is allowed, as long as this is not a commercial company.
  9. Links to commercial parties who have an interest in the topic of conversation are prohibited. Naturally, one is free to send the poster of the message a Private Message (PM) or Airmail to request more information. Providing a link to the forum of a commercial party where a possible solution for a problem might be found is always allowed.
  10. The sending of unnecessary, unwanted and hindering Private Messages (PM) to members (including moderators) is considered spamming. When observed, the member’s forum access may be revoked.
  11. If a member receives an inappropriate Private Message (PM) or e-mail, sent via the VBVf, they may forward it to the CEO of VBV.
  12. Note: Do not post such PM’s on the forum.
  13. The determination as to what is considered indecent, vulgar, inappropriate or otherwise conflicting with these regulations shall be made by the moderators, not the members.
Code of conduct: Post rules
  1. On the VBVf, civilized Dutch is to be used in the Dutch sections. Therefore: no unclear dialects of a completely different language.
  2. On the VBVf, civilized English is to be used in the English sections. Therefore: no unclear dialects of a completely different language.
  3. Search the forum before asking a question. It’s well possible that your question or comment has been posted before, has been discussed and may even already be solved.
  4. Posts should be on-topic with respect to the forum and topic in which you post. Moderators may move wrongly posted messages to the correct location or delete it altogether.
  5. Use a title for your question which clearly describes what your post is about. Something like “Help” or “Why doesn’t this work?” are NOT suitable titles of topics. The moderators reserve the right to amend a title if this is deemed necessary for good communication.
  6. Ask 1 question per topic. If you have multiple questions, create multiple topics. This ensures clear titles which clearly indicate what the question is about. Also, the forum remains clear and you improve your chance on an answer.
  7. Do not use words such as “important” or “urgent” in your topics. All posts here are regarded as important.
  8. When explaining a problem, do this as clearly as possible. Kindly provide as much details as possible if they can be of interest or importance.
  9. Do not use excessive capital letters, unnecessary question- and/or exclamation marks or unnecessary emoticons in your topic or post.
  10. The forum is not allowed to advice or help with finding a solution or offering a solution if it concerns requests to modify commercial affairs or free to use affairs where the developer has indicated that modifications are not allowed.
  11. A moderator may remove a link. In case of incorrect links, a moderator will do this immediately, without discussing this with the topic starter (TS). In case the moderator is in doubt as to the necessity of the link or the invasion of privacy which can be expected as a result of the link, the moderator will discuss the matter trough PM, after which the link may be removed.
  12. The moderator will only remove a link if this does not compromise the legibility of the topic.
  13. It is not allowed to post an (empty) message in a topic which has been silent for four (4) weeks for the sole purpose to bump the topic to the top of the list. This practise is also referred to as ‘post bumping’.
  14. Do not post (new) questions in another member’s topic. If the Topic Starter (TS) closes their topic, your question will go unanswered. Therefore: create a new topic with your own question.
  15. VBVf is a forum for all members. All posted messages are accessible for all members. Posted messages will not be modified or removed, except for posts which conflict with the forum rules.
  16. Although the administrators and moderators strive to view all posts and try to remove all posts which do not adhere to the rules, this can be quite a challenge on a large forum. All messages and posts are therefore a reflection of the poster’s own opinion and position. The owner(s) of the forum cannot be held responsible for the contents of the messages or posts. Links to websites are only allowed if they meet the following criteria:
  • The websites may not be discriminatory or hateful
  • So-called 'adult' or 18+ websites are prohibited
  • Links to illegal downloads or websites which offer illegal services are prohibited.
Code of conduct: Commercial Messages
  1. No commercial posts may be placed within the VBVf from which members could gain (financial) benefit.
  2. Links to commercial products related to the various Flight simulators are permitted provided that there are no members who can gain (financial) benefit from it.
  3. In determining whether a post contravenes points 1 and / or 2, the moderators always have the final say.
  4. The message will be removed from the VBVf by the moderators.
  5. Members who let commercial interests influence their messages can be denied access to the VBVf for a specific period of time or indefinitely. The determination is made by the moderators.
  6. Commercial interest also applies if it means the interest of other organisations, which try to bring their interests forward trough one or more members.

Note: This therefore also applies to organisations such as VATSIM and/or IVAO.

     Exceptions:
  1. V-Bird VA participates in the Aerosoft Virtual Airline Program, whereby add-ons with a code may be purchased cheaper. Messages regarding the added add-ons may only be made by the staff in the News centre (Read Only).
  2. V-Bird has a continuous deal with FS2Crew whereby products of FS2crew may be purchased with a discount. Messages regarding the added add-ons may only be made by the staff in the News centre (Read Only).
